Adhesion Improvement Mechanism of Polytetrafluoroethylene by Heat-assisted Atmospheric Pressure Glow Plasma Treatment
نویسندگان
چکیده
The adhesive strength of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film increased drastically by heat-assisted plasma treatment and PTFE indicated cohesive failure inside the PTFE. By increasing temperature, defluorination progressed. treated with H2/He had significantly lower than only He. peak assigned to stretching vibration -CH2- could be observed in plasma. From above, we concluded improvement requires formation dangling bonds a crosslinked structure on surface.

Plasma-Assisted Deposition at Atmospheric Pressure
In plasma-assisted deposition methods the activation energy necessary for the initiation of chemical reactions is transferred via charged particles. Due to this fact in many cases the process temperature can be kept small, if gas discharges at pressures below 1 hPa are used. On the other hand low pressure requires a great deal of vacuum equipment. Processes at atmospheric pressure are more favo...
متن کاملSurface Wettability Improvement of Heat Curing Acrylic Resin by Direct Current (DC) Non-thermal Atmospheric Pressure Plasma
Ar/O2/N2 cold plasma was employed to treat the surface of heat-curing acrylic resin, and the wettability changes were evaluated. After plasma treatment, the contact angle reduced significantly. XPS results indicated that the C/O ratio reduced and a new hydrophilic group C–OH was generated on the surface of acrylic resin.
متن کاملNanosecond pulse plasma assisted ignition simulations at atmospheric pressure
Ignition assistance by a pulsed applied voltage is investigated in a canonical one-dimensional configuration. An incipient ignition kernel, formed by localized energy deposition into a lean mixture of methane and air at atmospheric pressure, is subjected to sub-breakdown electric fields by a DC potential applied across the domain, resulting in non-thermal behavior of the electron sub-fluid form...
متن کاملSpectroscopic Characterisation of an Atmospheric Pressure Glow Discharge*
Recently there has been considerable interest in atmospheric discharges operating in a glow discharge mode i.e. with a spatial and sheath structure similar to that of low pressure glow discharges [1,2,3]. Here spectroscopy has been used to characterise an atmospheric pressure glow discharge (APGD), operating with either dry air, argon or helium gas flowing through the inter-electrode space and ...
متن کاملAssessment of Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment for Implant Osseointegration
This study assessed the osseointegrative effects of atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) surface treatment for implants in a canine model. Control surfaces were untreated textured titanium (Ti) and calcium phosphate (CaP). Experimental surfaces were their 80-second air-based APP-treated counterparts. Physicochemical characterization was performed to assess topography, surface energy, and chemical ...
